About Us

Located in Board of Education District 3 and KCS Region 2, Cedar Bluff Preschool is one of four stand alone preschools in Knox County Schools.

Starting in 2008 as a preschool with Cedar Bluff Elementary, later opened as a stand alone in 2022, the school houses approximately 200 preschool students. Our amazing staff is made up of certified teachers, teaching assistants, and many certified therapists.

Cedar Bluff Preschool is proud to support families that are entering Knox County Schools for the first time. Our school is dedicated to fostering safe, engaging, and educational experiences for the youngest learners in the district.

Principal

April Partin

April Partin joined Knox County Schools in 2001 as a teacher at A.L. Lotts Elementary School, where she taught several years and served as a lead teacher. She began her career in administration in 2012 when she was appointed assistant principal at A.L. Lotts. She also served as an assistant principal at Green Magnet Academy. She was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2017 and placed at Karns Elementary School as assistant principal. In 2018, she was named principal of Shannondale Elementary, and in 2019, she became principal of Lonsdale Elementary. Then in 2023 she was appointed the first executive principal at Cedar Bluff Preschool.

Ms. Partin holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Tennessee. She also holds an education specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University and an education specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Tennessee.

Assistant Administrator

Karri Armstrong

Karri Armstrong is an experienced educator and leader with a strong background in early childhood with an emphasis on special education. She began her teaching career in Blount County Schools as a K-5 special education teacher from 2018-2020. In 2020, Karri Armstrong moved into Knox County Schools as an early childhood educator at Cedar Bluff Preschool until 2022, then continued her early childhood educator experience at East Knox County Elementary School. In 2025, she transitioned into an administrative role as assistant administrator at Cedar Bluff Preschool where she currently serves the students, families, and staff of the Cedar Bluff community.

Karri Armstrong holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from East Tennessee State University, a master’s degree in Special Education from Arkansas State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration/Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
